18-Year-Old ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Star Kaylee Hottle Dies in Auto Accident

Kaylee Hottle, who gained fame for her portrayal of Jia in the films Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, tragically passed away at the age of 18 due to a car accident in Maryland. The Texas School for the Deaf, where Hottle was a student, confirmed the sad news, extending their heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and the entire school community.

Local authorities reported that the accident took place early Tuesday morning in Frederick, Maryland. The vehicle involved, a 1995 Honda Accord, veered off the road and collided with a culvert. Investigators have suggested that excessive speed may have played a role in the crash.

Kaylee Hottle was a passenger in the car at the time. She was transported to a nearby trauma center but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The 19-year-old driver of the vehicle sustained injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening, while another passenger declined any medical attention.

Hottle was celebrated for her role as Jia, a deaf orphan who shares a unique connection with Kong in the MonsterVerse franchise. Her performance was lauded for its authentic representation of the deaf community, bringing much-needed visibility to deaf characters in major films. Her contribution to the industry remains significant, especially in terms of inclusive representation.
