Southern Luzon in the Philippines is bracing for potential flooding and landslides as easterly winds are expected to bring rain to the region overnight and into Wednesday. The areas most at risk include Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Aurora, the Bicol Region, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and northern Palawan. While the forecast predicts light to moderate rainfall, some locations could experience heavier downpours.
In the Visayas, Western Visayas is anticipated to see the most rainfall, with cloudy skies and scattered showers and thunderstorms also predicted in Eastern Visayas. The moderate to heavy rain poses a risk of flash floods and landslides in areas already vulnerable to such conditions.
Northern Luzon is likely to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain due to northeasterly winds. Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and other parts of Calabarzon may experience partly cloudy conditions, accompanied by isolated showers and localized thunderstorms.
Across Mindanao, the weather is expected to be generally fair in the morning, with partly cloudy to sunny skies. However, localized thunderstorms might develop in the afternoon and evening, particularly in Northern Mindanao, the Caraga region, and the northern Zamboanga Peninsula.
Residents in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas are advised to stay informed with weather updates, carry umbrellas, and exercise caution during periods of heavy rain.
